What if home cooking only required the use of your Fridge/Freezer and Stove/Oven?Â
No cutting, or washing. All the prep side, as well as the nutritional foundation is already handled? This is exactly how a Restaurant functions. There are prep cooks and line cooks. When you sit down and order food a line cook takes what has already been prepared by the prep cooks. Assembles the ingredients, heats them to create a dish to serve to the guests. The process is streamlined to effectively feed high volumes. Yet the home cooking process is usually done all at once. Creating a long, tedious, time consuming, and often draining process.
The actual cooking process….Working with Metal and Fire to create a meal….putting ingredients into a pot or pan and cooking is often simple, straight forward, and a fun and engaging process, while taking out a cutting board and knife. Cutting, washing, and prepping everything before hand often feels like a chore.
If home cooking meant no more cutting board/knife, no more working near or around the sink and instead was focused purely on putting things together on the stove top, would you enjoy cooking home meals more?
Convenience is great and all, but at what cost?
Groceries are getting more and more expensive….everything is getting more expensive. Convivence is great and all, but its simply not feasible to drop a paycheck on groceries. That is why this service is designed to effectively make clean organic nourishing meals simple and effective at a cheap and reasonable rate.
I am taking the same processes I have found effective in my own life and simply scaling up. If I am already shopping fresh produce, and processing/prepping them for easy, simple, and sustainable nourishment. It takes less effort to simply do that at a larger scale. Likewise if I am shopping not just for myself but for a community then I am ordering in larger quantities, getting better deals, and we all save money in the process.
Fire Ice Fire Food TechniqueÂ
The Fire, Ice, Fire technique is designed to turn fresh produce into a freezer friendly state so it can be easily maintained until needed. No worrying about if it is going to go bad, and need to be tossed. It can just sit in the freezer while maintaining quality until needed.Â
When you freeze something often times the texture just isn’t the same. The reason for that comes down to cellular structure. Take a carrot for example. Nature grows a carrot in a specific form. The carrot is hard and rigid. It holds its form though its cellular structure. Put that carrot in a freezer, and then thaw it and your left with nothing but a limp disappointment.Â
When water freezes it expands. That expansion disrupts the cellular structure and when that occurs texture is “Off”.
Heat does a similar thing in a different fashion. Temperature is merely the rate of vibration. Cooking is raising that vibration to the point the molecules are vibrating at such a fast pace that the cellular structure is disrupted. Everything moving at that rate becomes ethereal. That is when ingredients intermingle, and fuse with each other. Using fire to bring multiple ingredients together to form a “Dish” is the essence of cooking.
You can boil a carrot, mash it, season it, and then freeze it. Once you thaw it you’ll get back what you put in….
Fire and Ice both disrupt the cellular structure of anything natural. Fire through ordered chaos, and Ice though ordered structure. By using fire first to alter things into a desirable state, then using ice to lock it into place before using fire again to release it. Food can be frozen while maintaining integrity.Â
I Apply the 1st flame, then freeze it. In that frozen state it is transferred to your home freezer, then you apply the 2nd flame when you are ready to enjoy!
What type of Food is available?
I am a certified Nutritionist/Holistic Nutrition Coach (In addition to 20+ other related certifications). I take that knowledge and combine it with my experience as a chef to create balanced meals. Specifically I have focused on how to get full nutrients through plant based eating. I believe in having the foundation of your diet being sustained by plants, and then supplemented up from there. For example it is actually very easy to get your full source of protein from plants. Proteins are made up of amino acids, plants are rich in amino acids. most just don’t have all essential AAs like meat does. Having the right combination of plants gets you all the protein your body needs. Then from there you simply add everything you personally enjoy to the mix. So if you love eating meat, or a specific type of meat, then you can cook and prepare that how you like it and combine it with the plant based foundation. This method ensures that you are getting all the nutrients your body needs. (Especially all the micro nutrients….vitamins and minerals). while giving space to add everything else you love into the mix.
This results in a meal system that is very open and accessible to most diets. Very vegetarian friendly. As far as Vegan diets I do use a lot of Honey and Ghee (Clarified Butter). The nutritional benefits are simply too great to exclude. In addition quality honey and butter come from Cows and Bees that are properly cared for…..Grass Fed Cows produce higher quality fats. Â
