Ayurveda classifies the “vibrational frequencies” into 3 groups. Satvic is High vibe, Rajasic is in the middle, and Tamasic is low, but how does that translate to real world applictions?
There tends to be a mind set that higher frequenecies are good and low vibe are bad, however reality is far more complicated. Each Guna has distinct characteristics and as such there are certain times each is highly useful.
SATVIC – Highly self nourishing, and energizing. Perfect “work food”. when you need energy to be active, and have the energy to tackle what life throws your way you want to eat Satvic. However Late night Satvic meals can lead to a a lack of sleep.
RAJASIC – Sensual, Stimulating, external focused. When you go out to eat and enjoy an experience with friends, and family or having a dinner party that is when you are seeking a Rajasic experience. (an ideal dining excperience would be primairily Rajasic, with some Satvic options.)
TAMASIC – Slow, Stagnant, Stabilizing. Primarily beneficial when in a rest and recover mode. ie Sick/injured. If you are laying in bed all day due to being sick or injured and “need rest” Tamasic food is ideal, however in a healthy state too much Tamasic food in a major hinderence to energy levels, and can result in lethaergy.
Kosmic Organics’ Product line will Have the Guna of the product clearly labeled using a 12 point scale. (1-4 is Tamasic, 5-8 is Rajasic, and 9-12 is Satvic)
